Setting up an EasyEquities account for a minor or child

A person younger than 18 years of age (a minor) can not open an account on their own. To do so they need a parent or legal guardian to open the account on their behalf.

The parent / legal guardian opening the minor account must have their own FICA-verified EasyEquities account in order to do so. If they don’t have one, they can register here – new registration.

Once the legal guardian has successfully opened an account, they can begin opening an account for their child by selecting the “Add an account for your kid” option from the profile menu, accessed by clicking on the head and shoulders icon in the top right of the screen on mobile and desktop.

Complete the four (4) easy registration pages.

Once complete, we will send a welcome email, containing the UserID (account number) of the new minor account but we will need a few hours (maximum 24) to electronically verify the details.

A second email will be sent as soon as the account has been verified and is ready to use.

Please note:
If you wish to withdraw funds, the minor will need to have their own bank account details captured under their profile. As with all withdrawals on EasyEquities, funds can only be withdrawn into a bank account that matches the details of the account holder - no third party banking details are accepted, including a parent's bank account in the case of minor accounts.
