What do I need to open an account

First World Trader (Pty) Ltd trading as EasyEquities is a Financial Services Provider and as such are obligated to comply with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 38 of 2001 (FICA). 

As a result of the act, we are therefore required to find out just who our EasyEquities clients are.

In the case of individuals (Natural Persons) registering online,  we are able to screen prospective clients and verify their identity without the need for any documentation. If we are not able to do this, we may need to request some documentation.

In the case of accounts of the types specified below, we are unable to perform the checks we need to without documentation, so will need the documents listed in the relevant FAQ articles in the table below:

  • Minor (person under the age of 18), or
  • Corporate Body (Eg. Company, close corporation, partnership, trust etc.)
  • Other Legal Persons - including informal associations (Eg. stokvels, churches, burial societies, schools, savings clubs, etc.)
