You can now open EasyEquities straight from your Absa banking app. It isn't a mini version or a separate account: it's the full EasyEquities platform, so you can buy, sell and manage your investments without switching apps. Here's how to get in, what works the same, and what to do if something doesn't load.

Getting In
It's EasyEquities, opened from inside your Absa banking app. Absa takes you straight in, so you see the same EasyEquities account and the same investments you'd see on our app or website.
Nothing about your account changes because of where you open it. Your portfolio, your money and your settings are all in one place, whichever door you walk through.

Log in to your Absa banking app, then look for EasyEquities in any of these places:
- the EasyEquities button on your home screen, next to Pay, Buy Airtime and Transfer
- Offers, under Invest
- the Get started prompt that introduces EasyEquities in the app
If you can't see it, update your Absa app from your app store and try again.

Tap EasyEquities in your Absa app. If you don't have an EasyEquities account yet, Absa opens our registration for you, right inside the app.
- Create your EasyEquities profile, including a username and password.
- Verify your identity. These are the same checks every new EasyEquities client completes, as the law requires us to know who our clients are.
- Once you're verified, you're ready to fund your account and invest.
If you're asked to log in the next time you open EasyEquities from Absa, use the username and password you've just created.

No. Your existing account is the one you'll use, and you can only have one EasyEquities account in your name anyway.
The first time you tap EasyEquities in your Absa app, Absa recognises that you're already registered with us and asks you to log in once with your EasyEquities username and password. That links the two. From then on, tapping EasyEquities normally takes you straight in.
If you can't remember your login details, reset them first, then come back and link.

Yes, for new clients. If you register for EasyEquities through the Absa banking app from 15 October 2026, you can qualify for two separate bonuses:
- R500 from Absa, for the first 1,000 qualifying clients.
- R50 from EasyEquities, for every qualifying client who registers by 31 December 2026, whether or not you get the R500.
To qualify, you must be 18 or older, have never held an EasyEquities account before, register through the Absa app, and have your account approved and FICA verified. If you already have an EasyEquities account, linking it in the Absa app doesn't qualify.
We pay the bonus into your EasyEquities ZAR account within 7 business days of your account being approved and verified. Good to know:
- It's locked for 3 years, so you can't withdraw the bonus itself in that time. You can invest it, and any profits are yours to withdraw.
- Any tax on the bonus is your responsibility, and normal fees apply when you invest it.
- The R500 goes to the first 1,000 only.

Not usually. Once your EasyEquities account is linked to your Absa app, tapping EasyEquities normally takes you straight in, with no separate login.
Now and then you may be asked to log in again. If that happens, use your EasyEquities username and password. Keep them safe, as you'll also need them on the EasyEquities app and website.

Yes. You can always log in directly on the EasyEquities app or website with your usual username and password. It's the same account, so anything you do in one place shows up in the others.
Handy if you'd like a bigger screen for browsing shares, or as another way in if EasyEquities won't open from Absa.

Investing From Your Absa App
Yes. Because the Absa app opens the EasyEquities platform itself, everything in your EasyEquities account works the same way, including:
- buying and selling shares, ETFs and other investments
- depositing and withdrawing money
- moving money between your own EasyEquities accounts, and EasyFX for offshore investing
- statements, tax certificates and transaction history
- your profile, bank details and security settings

Exactly as you would on the EasyEquities app: tap My Funds, then choose how you'd like to pay. You can pay by EFT from your Absa account or use one of the other deposit options on the page.
If you pay by EFT, always use the bank details and the reference shown on your own Deposits page, so your money finds its way to the right account.
Each payment method has its own timing and cost, all set out in our deposit guide.

Tap My Funds, then Withdraw, just as you would on the EasyEquities app.
Before your first withdrawal, add your bank account to your EasyEquities profile. It must be in your own name. Absa accounts are among the banks we check automatically, which usually takes up to 48 hours.

No. Your fees are set out in the EasyEquities Cost Profile, the same document that covers every EasyEquities client, and opening EasyEquities from Absa doesn't change them.
The same goes for Thrive, our loyalty programme. Every EasyEquities account holder is automatically a member, with nothing to activate, and it works the same whether you open EasyEquities from Absa, our app or our website. You earn EasyMoney rebates as you invest, and there's a R25 monthly Thrive Fee too, which can be waived. Thrive Levels Explained covers your Thrive Level and how the fee works.

If Something Doesn't Go to Plan
The quickest way to find the cause is to try logging in on the EasyEquities app or website. That tells you which side the problem is on.
If EasyEquities works on our app or website
Your account is fine, and the problem is in opening it from Absa.
- Make sure your Absa app is up to date, then close it and try again.
- Check our System Status page in case we're having a hiccup.
- Still stuck? Chat to Ella and tell her what you see on screen, and she'll get it to the right team.
If you can't get in on our app or website either
Then it's your EasyEquities account that needs attention, not the Absa link. An account that's blocked or closed won't open from Absa until it's sorted. If you've forgotten your details, reset them; if you see a message about your account being restricted, chat to Ella and she'll get it to the right team.
Related: I've forgotten my EasyEquities username or password · Who do I contact: Absa or EasyEquities? · Why can't I access my account?
You can reset both yourself, from the EasyEquities login page, including the one Absa shows you when you link your account.
- Password: tap Forgot Password and enter your username (not your email address). We'll email you a code to set a new password.
- Username: tap Forgot Username and enter your email address and date of birth. We'll email your username to you.
Once your account is linked, you won't usually need these to open EasyEquities from Absa, but you'll need them for our app and website, and if Absa ever asks you to log in again.

It depends on which part isn't working.
- Absa looks after the Absa app: logging in to your Absa app, the app itself, and your Absa bank account.
- We look after everything inside EasyEquities: your EasyEquities account and login, deposits, withdrawals, investments and statements. Chat to Ella or submit a ticket and we'll take it from there.
We'll never ask for your password, and we'll never ask you to pay into bank details that don't match the ones on your own Deposits page.
