The first step in making an investment in your USD account is to ensure that you have funded this account.

View this article for an easy step-by-step guide on how to fund your EasyEquities USD account using the Inter-Account Transfer / EasyFX feature. This is the fastest, most straightforward method but is only available to South African citizens.

However, if you would like to fund your USD Account directly from another bank account, below are two methods you can use:

Fund USD account by making a SWIFT payment

Fund USD account from an offshore account

Funding your account with a credit or debit card is not allowed.

Note

There's a discretionary allowance allowing South Africans to take up to R1 million offshore in any calendar year. If you want to take more money offshore (between R1 and R10 million), you can request a Tax Compliance Status (TCS) for a Foreign Investment Allowance via SARS eFillling. For more information check out the SARB page here under Financial Surveillance; Individuals for information on your discretionary allowance and the SARS website here for information on the TCS.

Recurring Investments into your USD Account

If you want to set up a Recurring Investment (to regularly buy a certain instrument/product) in your EasyEquities USD account, you will need to set it up so that the purchase is made from your available funds in that account. Unfortunately, your EasyEquities USD account may not be funded by means of a debit order.
