Ever looked for a share on EasyEquities and come up empty? Suggest & Vote is how you tell us what you want listed, and how you back someone else's idea. The instruments with the most votes get sent for review, and you'll get an email if one you backed makes it onto the platform.
NOTE: Suggest & Vote is available on both the EasyEquities website and the mobile app. On the app, tap a wallet after New Listings and the page will open.

Finding It and Using It
On the website, open the side menu and go to My Investments → New Listings. Scroll down to Browse New Listings and click Suggest an instrument.
On the app, it's the same menu, but you'll need to tap a wallet after New Listings before the page opens. Any wallet will do, and it doesn't limit what you can suggest or vote for.

On the In the Pipeline tab you'll see the instruments people have already suggested, ranked by how many votes they've got. Click Vote next to any of them and the button changes to Voted! with the count going up by one. You can also search for a specific instrument and vote from the search results.

Use the search bar at the top of the Suggest & Vote page and type the name or ticker of what you're after. Each result shows a flag for the exchange it's listed on and the currency you'd buy it in, so check you've got the right one before you click. Anything showing Not in the pipeline hasn't been suggested yet, so click Suggest next to it. Your suggestion goes onto the board straight away with your own vote already counted, so it starts at one.

Yes. Click the Voted! button again and your vote comes off, with the count dropping by one. You can vote for the same instrument again later if you change your mind. You only get one vote per instrument though, so voting twice won't push it up any faster.

As many as you like. There's no cap on the number of instruments you can vote for or suggest. The only limit is one vote per instrument per person.

You can browse and vote across all the markets on the board. Bear in mind that you'd need the matching account open and funded to actually invest in something once it's available, so a share listed in pounds needs a GBP account, and one listed in dollars needs a USD account. Opening those is quick, and you don't have to do it before you vote.

Voting signs you up for updates automatically, so there's nothing extra to click. If the instrument is added to the platform, we'll email you to let you know it's live and ready to trade. For anything already sitting on the In Review tab that you haven't voted on, click Notify me to get the same updates.

How the Board Works
It's a ranked list of the instruments our clients most want to see on EasyEquities. Every suggestion lands on the board immediately and climbs as other people vote for it. We show the top ten to start with, and you can click Load More to see the rest.

When you suggest something you'll see a progress bar showing how many votes it has against the number it needs, currently 500. Hitting that target is what sends the instrument to our team for review. That's a high bar, so most suggestions spend a good while climbing. Until then it stays on the board collecting votes, and it's visible to everyone the whole time.

In the Pipeline is where suggestions gather votes, ranked from most to least. In Review is where they move once they've hit the vote target and our team is looking at them properly. Voting closes at that point, which is why In Review instruments show a Notify me button instead of a vote button.

All of them. You can suggest and vote for instruments listed in rands, dollars, pounds, euros and Australian dollars, and each search result shows a flag and a currency so you can tell them apart. What you won't find is cryptocurrency, which works differently.

It means we already offer it, so there's nothing to suggest. Click View next to the result and it'll take you to the instrument, ready to invest in. This is worth checking first if you assumed something wasn't available, since the search covers what's already on the platform as well as what isn't.

Tell people about it. A suggestion climbs on the strength of how many clients want the same thing, so the more investors you point at the board, the faster it moves. Anyone with an EasyEquities account can find it under New Listings and add their vote.

If It's Not What You Expected
A vote is a request, not a booking. Reaching the vote target sends the instrument to our team to look at, and getting something listed depends on things like whether our brokers can offer it and what the regulations allow. We can't promise every suggestion will make it, or say how long a review takes, but you'll be emailed either way once there's an outcome.

First check your spelling and try the ticker instead of the full name, or fewer words. The board holds everything we're likely to be able to offer through our broker network, across every market we support, so most searches will turn something up. If yours genuinely doesn't, there's a log a ticket link at the bottom of the search screen. Tell us what you were looking for and we'll investigate whether we can reach it at all.

That's normal for a new suggestion. The board ranks purely on vote count, so anything that's just been added starts at one vote and sits below everything that's had time to gather support. It's still on the board and still visible to every client browsing it, so it hasn't gone anywhere.

Not directly. What you'll find when you search for something like XRP are listed ETFs that track a cryptocurrency, which are shares you'd buy in the matching currency account. Actual coins live on EasyCrypto, which is a separate platform with its own list of supported tokens.

Most JSE-listed shares are already on the platform, so search for it before you suggest it. If it comes back marked In EasyEquities, it's available now and you can click View to go straight to it. Try the ticker as well as the company name, since a share is sometimes listed under a name you might not expect. If it's genuinely not there, you can suggest it like anything else.
