Can i buy instruments in my EasyEquities USD account outside of market hours?

The great new is YES.

The clever folk at EasyEquities have created what we call a Buy Instruction. How it works very simply is that if you are on the website outside of US market hours and you want to invest, rather than have to abandon the process altogether, we'll offer you the option to give us an instruction to buy that instrument / product (ie. share / ETF / basket / bundle) for you when it's available.

If you attempt to buy an instrument outside of market trading hours (see bottom of FAQ for US market hours), you will be presented with 'warning' text just below the 'Select your investment type' buttons instructing you that the instrument you are attempting to buy is currently only available through a Buy Instruction - see text at bottom of image below.

If you then select the Monthly button, you will be taken to a page where you can set up a Recurring Investment.

If however, you click on the "Once Off" button, you will be taken to a page displaying the amount you want to invest as well as the fees involved, and a button to confirm your instruction to buy.

When you confirm the instruction to buy, you will get taken to a confirmation page - see image below - where you can share your purchase on social media and then continue on to "Browse the Market", or check your "Pending Buy Instructions".

If you want to check on the list of instruments that you have instructed us to buy for you, you can select the 'Pending Buy instructions' option from the stack menu to the left of the EasyEquities logo at the top of the screen - as highlighted in the image below.

This will take you to the 'Instructions Overview' page, where you will see a list of all the instruments that we will buy for you when the market opens - see example with Sibanye Gold in image below.

*US trading hours are between 14h35 and 20h55 GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) Monday to Friday

Exchanges will be closed on Public Holidays.
