The reference you should use on EFT transfers is the full 13 / 14 character account number

You can find the account number for each specific account by selecting the desired account from the Account Ribbon on the account overview page - as explained below.

PLEASE NOTE

There will be a DIFFERENT reference for each different EasyEquities account you might want to deposit funds into, as listed below:

  • Investment account
  • Tax-free Savings Account (TFSA)
  • USD account - although the same reference structure is used, you can NOT deposit rands into our Rand bank account with the USD reference. You need to deposit US dollars into our New York Citibank account by Swift payment. Details here - How do I deposit funds into my EasyEquities USD account?
  • Retirement Annuity (RA) Account

To avoid transacting in the wrong account, make sure you always select the desired account you want to transact in before taking the desired action (deposit, investment etc)

If wanting to transfer funds to your Investment account, you must ensure you select your EasyEquities ZAR account from the account ribbon just below the EasyEquities logo at the top of the page (as shown in red in the image below).

Once you have the correct account selected, make certain you are on the "Account Overview" page and the reference you must use for the transfer MUST be the account number displayed to the right below the account ribbon - as shown by the black arrow in the image below. PLEASE NOTE:

It is extremely important you use the correct account number as reference to ensure the funds are allocated to the correct account.

We have just developed an automatic allocation tool that will operate at night and over weekends and provided that your reference is correct, funds can be allocated to your account at those times.

IF however the deposit reference is incorrect, this will almost without fail cause unnecessary and potentially frustrating delays to the allocation of funds which may mean you miss out on an important trade.
