Once your account is set up and verified the next step to making your first investment is to fund your account.
There are a few ways that you can fund your different accounts. Take a look at the tabs below each of the different account types to see which way suits you best.
ZAR
The cheapest way to fund your EasyEquities account with zero fees:
Log in to your account
Make sure to select your ZAR account on the account selector
Select the menu in the top left corner
Select Deposits under the My Funds section of the menu
Scroll down and use the drop-down menu to select the bank where your bank account is held
Use the bank account details in the block below the drop-down menu to make an EFT from your internet banking or banking app
NB
EFT deposits may take up to 2-3 business days to reflect in your EasyEquities account. The correct account number must be used as a reference to ensure the funds are allocated to the correct account. The reference number is the full 13 / 14-character account number displayed on the account overview page of the respective account.
You can use your credit card, cheque or debit card to make instant deposits into your EasyEquities account. Please note that there is a R1.60 fixed cost, plus a cost of 2% (credit card) or 1.5% (debit card) of the value for your transaction for these methods of deposit
- Log in to your account
- Make sure to select your ZAR account on the account selector
- Select the menu in the top left corner
- Select Deposits under the My Funds section of the menu
- Enter the amount you would like to deposit
- Select credit card to the right of the amount block
- Enter your card details and select the make deposit button
- You may be directed to an authentication page to enter a pin (one-time password/OTP) sent to you by your bank. Enter the pin and confirm the transaction
- You will then be directed back to EasyEquities and your funds will be available to invest
TFSA
You can transfer your funds from your ZAR account to your TFSA account. Simply use one of the other methods to fund your ZAR account or use any funds that are already in your ZAR account.
- Log in to your account
- Make sure to select your ZAR account on the account selector
- Select the menu in the top left corner
- Select Inter-account Transfers and EasyFX under the My Funds section of the menu
- Select a From and a To account
- Enter the amount you would like to transfer
- Confirm that you agree with the terms and conditions
- Select Transfer Now
- Log in to your account
- Make sure to select your TFSA account on the account selector
- Select the menu in the top left corner
- Select Deposits under the My Funds section of the menu
- Scroll down and use the drop-down menu to select the bank where your bank account is held
- Use the bank account details in the block below the drop-down menu to make an EFT from your internet banking or banking app

USD
If you reside outside the common monetary areas (CMA - Swaziland, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa) you will need to do a swift/international/global payment from your bank into the specific account you wish to fund. Funding international accounts for Minors is not available. Minors unfortunately do not qualify for international accounts.
EasyFX is EasyEquities' built-in international funds transfer solution. Make sure you have funded your ZAR account using one of the methods above and then follow the steps below:
- Log in to your account
- Make sure you have selected your USD account on the account selector at the top of the page
- Select the menu in the top left corner
- Select Inter-account Transfers and EasyFX under the My Funds section of the menu
- Select your ZAR as the From account and your USD account as the To account
- Enter the amount you would like to transfer
- Confirm that you agree with the terms and conditions
- Select transfer now

Making a deposit to your USD account via your bank is done as an international payment with your bank. Read more on that here.

- Make sure to select your USD account on the account selector
- Use the bank account details in the blocks on the page to make a payment with your bank
AUD
EasyFX is EasyEquities' built-in international funds transfer solution. Make sure you have funded your ZAR account using one of the methods above and then follow the steps below
- Log in to your account
- Make sure you have selected your AUD account on the account selector at the top of the page
- Select the menu in the top left corner
- Select Inter-account Transfers and EasyFX under the My Funds section of the menu
- Select your ZAR as the From account and your AUD account as the To account
- Enter the amount you would like to transfer
- Confirm that you agree with the terms and conditions
- Select transfer now

EasyFX transfers may take up to 2 business days to reflect on your AUD account
Making a deposit to your AUD account via a bank account outside Australia is done as an international payment with your bank. You can also make payment from a bank account within Australia.
- Log in to your account
- Select the menu in the top left corner
- Select Deposits under the My Funds section of the menu
- Make sure to select your AUD account on the account selector
- Use the bank account details in the blocks on the page to make a payment with your bank
RA
Deposits into your RA account may only be done by EFT. Please note that RA deposits can take slightly longer to clear in your account.
- Log in to your account
- Make sure you have selected your RA account on the account selector at the top of the page
- Select the menu in the top left corner
- Select Deposits under the My Funds section of the menu
- Scroll down and use the drop-down menu to select the bank where your bank account is held
- Use the bank account details in the block below the drop-down menu to make an EFT from your internet banking or banking app
Capitec Bank Account Holders
