In your account settings you have the choice of:
1. Having fees which are charged for a trade (buy or sell) added to the value you would like to invest (Excluded), OR
2. Including the fees charged for a trade (buy or sell) in the total value invested (Inclusive).
Example
The examples are based on a trade of R100.
Excluded
You would like the value you input for a trade to exclude transaction fees, i.e. R100 will be invested in the instrument, and fees would added on top of the R100.
Included
You would like the value you input for your trade to include transaction fees, i.e. you will pay R100 in total, but you wouldn't be investing the FULL R100 into the chosen instrument.
Note
The fees selection does not apply to the debit order fee, which will always be added to the total cost after normal fees regardless of the default value selected
To change your default fees setting on the platform:
- Click on hamburger menu (≡) on the top-left of the page.
- Select Account Preferences from the Account Management Section.
- Scroll to the Transaction Fees section and choose your preferred option.
- Click Save & Proceed at the bottom-right of the page to confirm.
