Do you provide a share dematerialisation process?

What is Dematerialisation?
If you hold an original share certificate and wish to convert these shares into electronic format, a Dematerialisation process will need to be carried out.

What do I need to do?

You will need to arrange delivery of the original share certificate together with relevant documentation, to our offices at:

16th Floor, 25 Owl Street, Braamfontein Werf, 2092

We will then lodge the original share certificate to the Issuer’s Transfer Secretary for processing the reregistration of shares into our First World Trader Nominees (RF) (Pty) Ltd account.

This process can take between 24 and 72 hours.

Once the reregistration has been completed, we will arrange collection of the new share certificate from the Transfer Secretary and delivery to our Central Securities Depositary Participant (CSDP). Our CSDP will then complete the process of the Dematerialisation and we will inform you of the completion of the process and charge your account.

Is there a fee for the service?

Unfortunately, yes. Due to the admin intensive nature of the process, we charge R500 for the service.
