What is an AI Basket?

We’ve launched AI functionality on the EasyEquities platform that allows you to generate your own investment portfolio called a “basket”, based on a theme or description of what you want to invest in.


How to create and invest in an AI Basket

  1. Make sure your USD account is funded. You can do this by transferring Rands from your ZAR Account into Dollars in your USD account via the My Funds tab.
  2. Select the Invest Tab in the app or the Invest Now tab on Desktop.
  3. Select My Investment, My Way.
  4. Select Invest with AI Technology.
  5. To create a basket you will need to have EasyCredits. You can buy EasyCredits from this page directly if you don’t currently have any. Each basket costs you 250 EasyCredits, equivalent to R20.
  6. Type in the description of the basket you would like to create.
  7. You’ll be presented with a relevant selection of US shares, an investment thesis as to why the shares have been chosen, and the opportunity to ask questions about them with our AI chatbot.

You can then scroll down and on the bottom left of this screen where you will be shown your current US Account balance with which you can invest in the basket.


Can this AI provide personalized financial guidance?
No, this AI is not designed to offer individualized financial advice or specific investment recommendations. Instead, its purpose is to assist users in exploring potential investments and gaining industry-related knowledge by generating a list of investments connected to a given search topic and providing context for their selection.

EasyEquities does not offer tailored advice or recommendations. All information provided is of a general nature and is current only at the time of writing. Before making any investment decisions, investors should consider obtaining independent advice from legal, financial, taxation, or other professionals to determine whether an investment aligns with their goals, financial circumstances, and needs.
 

Are there any restrictions on the topics you can search for?
The AI aims to help you gain a deeper understanding of the context surrounding themes and ideas and discover stocks based on the topics that interest you most. It is not intended to be a tool for analyzing the performance of specific shares and does not provide individualized advice.
 

The AI has built-in safety checks that prevent it from processing inappropriate searches. It will reject topics related to violence, illegal activities, sexual content, harmful behavior, subjective investment advice, and similar themes.

What is the underlying technology behind the AI?
The EasyEquities AI is driven by Telescope AI, an Australian generative AI company that utilizes several leading large language models, including those developed by OpenAI (such as Chat GPT), Anthropic, and others. Telescope AI has customized its platform to meet the specific product and regulatory requirements of EasyEquities.


How much does it cost?

To create your AI basket will cost 10 EasyCredits. To purchase your EasyCredits follow the below steps.

  • Log in to your account 
  • Click on your "Menu" tab  
  • Select EasyCredits and make your purchase.
