Exchangeable Bonds (Brait)

Exchangeable bonds are debt instruments that allow investors to exchange the bond for shares of a company.

On EasyEquities, we currently offer only one exchangeable bond issued by Brait, and it is only exchangeable upon maturity in 2027.

Investors looking to sell before maturity should be mindful that the bond may at times have a wide bid-ask spread due to lack of liquidity.

These bonds can be traded through the EasyEquities trading desk, which assists with handling and executing trades, but subject to the liquidity and pricing available on the exchange.

As the investor makes further investments in FSRs and ultimately ends up with a whole share, the contract for difference is closed out and ownership whole share is delivered to the investor.
