When registering your EasyEquities account, you were asked to enter your country of residence. If you did not type South Africa or one of the Common Monetary Areas (which includes Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland) into this field, you will only be given a USD account.
As Capitec does not have swift payment functionality which allows you to deposit directly into your EasyEquities USD Account, you will need to either make the deposit via a USD bank account or via another bank which does have swift payment functionality.
It is possible to transfer funds into your EasyEquities USD account from an EasyEquities ZAR account within the widget. In order to open an ZAR account however, you must have a South African ID number.
If you do have an SA ID and you want to make amendments to the original information you provided in your EasyEquities acount registration in order to open a ZAR account, you’ll need to log a ticket with EasyEquities and select FICA Query as your topic.
