If you're under the age of 18 and would like to open an EasyEquities account, or you are a parent who would like to open an EasyEquities account for your child, you'll need to open a minor account. This requires the parent / legal guardian to have their own KYC verified account, after which they can open an account for their child as detailed in this article.
Note that only one EasyEquities account can be linked via the Widget on your Capitec app.
If you are a parent wanting to access your child's EasyEquities account via the Capitec widget, here are three options for you to consider:
- If a child was old enough to have their own phone, with the Capitec app on it, they could link their own minor account and parents would be able transact via their child's app and widget.
- If a parent were to delink their widget and link their child's EasyEquities account, they'd be able to transact on their child's behalf
- If a parent wanted to keep their own EasyEquities account linked via the widget and make transactions on their child's account, they'd have to access their child's account via the EasyEquities website.
